;_;

godhand has this thing about it, I can't explain it but.

it's over the top, it has an awesome sense of humor, and it's HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARD!

first stage I died 13 times, second stage 15, third 19.

I mean I could go into heart wrenching detail about all of the awesome things this game can offer but.

you fight an eight foot demon with a mexican accent named elvis, who also happens to be the coolest boss ever

that kinda won it for me.

Godhand is definitely made by the people that did Viewtiful Joe, that's for sure.
I mean, I knew that it was by clover before I watched that AFRO JOE clip, but if I hadn't then that video would have been a dead giveaway.
WILD RIDE
Well that settles it then. I know the majority of the world disagrees with me, but I did not care for Viewtiful Joe. When I played the demo, I thought it was the coolest thing ever. Then I got the actual game, and it was the same thing over and over for longer than I was willing to put up with. Those green missile guys are the worst enemy in any game I've ever played.
Axem Rangers
I'll attest to that last bit.

It's an okay game, worth a playthrough, but it didn't hold my attention for long enough for me to get good at it. Maybe that's my fault.

the first one was awesome in my honest opinion, I cleared that with a huge grin on my face. the second however made me give up on the fourth stage. Godhand is hard like that but it kinda pushes you to continue moving foward, or I don't know fletcher told me about the game so i guess part of the drive to beat it is to have some personal gamer cred.

also stage four 24 deaths @_@ on five now and I'm almost done

Yeah, it didn't keep my attention the whole way through, either.. I just watched a roommate in college beat the game and I never bothered to finish it myself.

why
Akur0
holy shit, so elvis fucks my shit up about 20 times *i'm not fucking kidding* the time I finally fucking beat him was only because I managed to get a heat punch *charge attack for a special* after he swung wildly with only one more hit for death.

BEST FUCKING BOSS FIGHT EVER!!!

also level five down 25 continues, \m/

Because they constantly move into a state in which you have to wait several seconds to attack them, and as I remember, they are the second most common enemy in the game.

Man the third boss in Folklore was a piece of shit

and I'm going to have to do it again Beating_a_Dead_Horse.gif
Eggman of the Strata
I stopped playing Folklore after that. It just didn't hold my attention as well as I'd hoped. Also, I kept trying to keep the stories on the same chapter so after getting through Chapter 3 twice, I decided that was enough of that.
chotto kiitena
Man I thought you were like Super Attention Span Man.

I did chapter 2 yesterday with both, just finished chapter 3 with both now, beginning on chapter 4!

If I can finish it over this long weekend that will be amazing
Eggman of the Strata
Things lose my attention when I'm forced to absorb every monster I come across. Twice. Also there wasn't much to the gameplay itself really.

Instead I finished Uncharted, MGS4 and got about 16 hours into KOTOR.
chotto kiitena
KOTOR isn't even a ps3 game lol

PS chapter 4 is fucked up o.o
Eggman of the Strata
Yeah, but I've had it since Christmas and yet to play it. Besides, I only had the 3 PS3 games. I sort of had to change systems at that point.

Also, Bioware apparently only knows one story? KOTOR and Mass Effect have almost the same story, final revelations in each aside.

I'm really starting to get an American McGee's Alice vibe from Folklore now.

It's cool!
chotto kiitena
chapter 4 is now completed with both characters!

well, in his defense, Bioware's pseudo-sandbox games seem to have that same story to them...they claim to be sandbox/anything goes...but in the end, its very linear with two different paths you can go.

Yeah. Still though. Little odd that the two that get the most talk are two most alike.

Seriously, character starts in the middle of a big battle. Hero ends up on hub world and undergoes training/investigation to become Jedi/Spectre so that their small team can go after a rogue Jedi/Spectre, who is using an ancient machine-thing that relates to a forgotten race. Hero must go to four planets and has visions after each one so that they can find the way to the fifth and final planet. They're even the same length.

Still fun games though. The only other Bioware game I even remember is Jade Empire and I was told it was very easy. Andif it's even half as buggy to play on 360 as KOTOR is, I probably won't bother trying it.

Especially this one.
Eggman of the Strata
Never played MDK2 because I could never find a copy for the Dreamcast and I've never been much for PC games. I did play Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, but that was terrible and not by Bioware.

Overall though, from KOTOR and Mass Effect, I can't say I've seen anything really all that amazing in their games. They're buggy, low on characterization on your other party members and have some of the worst inventory systems I've ever seen. They pretty much just have fun battle systems.

I'll try to find a copy of MDK2 again though as it looks to be totally different from everything else they've made.

man, it's like you live in bizarro world btns.gif
Eggman of the Strata
Then please explain how Dark Alliance was good. All I got out of it was a super bland co-op dungeon crawler with no actual strategy to any of the fighting. I eventually ended up selling all of my clothes and buying the strongest weapon I could find and just hacking at wolves up on a mountain, where I was at for what seemed to be no reason.

KOTOR is basically FF12 set to wait mode and Mass Effect was really easy but everything outside the Mako controlled pretty well and fights were quick and fluid. The stories in them aren't all that great but at least they have one and they're written pretty well.

Honestly, I don't even know why I'd bother to compare them anyway. Not exactly the same genre there. I was pretty much just saying my only example of playing part of the Baldur's Gate series, which it really isn't, first city aside.

ANYWAY, so how about that awesome memory card exploit for PS2 that lets you play burned ISOs on non-modded systems? It's certainly pretty cool. Been trying out Sengoku Basara X a little bit here and there when people are over. Kinda confusing but fun.
chotto kiitena
Dark Alliance is just fun like Diablo. It's hard to explain beyond that. Being able to play with a friend on the same machine was also a lot of fun.

As well as that, the graphics and such were really cool at the time. I got it for PS2 around when the Gamecube came out and had fun playing all the way through it. Although I never got into the sequels.

KOTOR's battle system I found really boring, I only played that game for the story. It was almost always just "click and sit back". Haven't tried Mass Effect yet.
Eggman of the Strata
I've only played Diablo 2 for about a half an hour but it felt a hell of a lot more fun than Dark Alliance. Diablo 2's world actually seemed to have characters that had things to say and an actual backstory to everything. DA was just completely mindless. It also had really stupid jumping puzzles that were completely out of place and if you're playing two player, you both have to do it exactly or right or you both fall.
rmz
I wasn't really referring to Dark Alliance. I was referring to the normal Baldur's Gate series that is amazing.
Eggman of the Strata
Yeah I know. I mentioned that that wasn't made by Bioware. Like I said, I was just saying that was as close to Baldur's Gate as I've gotten, which isn't close at all.
Brazoliange
KOTOR was an amazing game fyi guys

KOTOR2 not so much.
chotto kiitena
I finished Folklore. Not bad at all! Some incredible environments and the story was pretty good as well. It got fucking hard near the end though :/

You could play the upcoming Sonic RPG by Bioware, combine the experiences, and it might put you closer to having actually played Baldur's Gate

Hadn't even heard of that one before. I only knew about Sonic RPG and Sonic Unleashed (which looked great... until he went were-something to further please the furries. Just wait, it'll be the new fad.. furries that turn into other furries)

Yeah, looks like they shelved their plans for Fantasy Zone II DX and did a collection instead. Kinda like what they did with Phantasy Star generation 4
Deets
No, the plan went through. Fantasy Zone Complete Collection will have a new System 16 version of Fantasy Zone II: The Tears of Opa Opa or whatever the SMS version was. Music by Manabu Namiki. Totally not joking, here. They apparently actually went and professionally programmed a game for System 16 in 2008. It looks like it'll probably be the last Sega Ages game, though :(

Also, I went by a GameStop to get another PS3 controller (new PS3 owner, PSN: djplaeskool) and I noticed they had a poster in the front for Soul Calibur IV. Funny thing was, there was a piece of printer paper taped to the front with:
JULY 29!!
on it, circled multiple times with a sharpie...
I suppose after a few videos of people breaking the street date, there've been a lot of inquiries...
Eggman of the Strata
Yeah, a ton of stores broke street date on it.

I stopped being interested in it entirely as soon as I heard that the new characters done by the guest artists don't actually have their own move sets. They're just clones of other guys. Depending on who they're a clone of, they'd totally break the game. Anyone remember Charade as Talim? Massive reach with those moves?
