And it's 'FEAR IS THE MIND KILLER'.

Haha man I suck.

XD

Yeah. I don't really even have a dreamcast anymore. :< Too bulky to carry around for one or two games. :/

So did the US version of Supernova 2 CS really not include any of the boss songs or whatever beyond Paranoia Hades? No planets, no groove radar specials, etc?

That's kind of silly.

But HADES is the only one of those songs that doesn't suck. (No, I'm not even trolling here, this is in all seriousness.)

Hell, I'd not have minded if they traded NGO for something else, while we're at it.

Man I remember back when Skies of Arcadia, Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 and Ikaruga were first released on the Gamecube

Those were the days btns.gif

Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, and Sonic Adventure DX. Those are the only versions that exist. Just ask Sega.

And NGO was the only thing in SN2 US that I cared about.

For some reason I can't turn on trance vibration. Maybe that's an unlockable thing? I want it though! :OOO!!!

My roommate was playing Rez HD and he had a second controller set up as the trance vibrator so I guess that's what you need to do.

Yeah. Rez HD uses the other controllers for the trance vibrator, not the 1P one. I need to sit down and play Rez HD some more.. it IS 99% the same game, but the enhancements do accentuate the two most important parts of the game, the graphics and the music. Now only if I can stop being distracted by PSU, KoF98 netplay, and MotW netplay.
HYPER BOUNDARY GATE
Speaking of that, is there a reasonably-costed way to convert a PS2 controller for use on the 360 without lag? One of my friends has a PS2 arcade board he wants to use to play the SNK games on Live Arcade.

I really like the Rockin Holiday songs pack for Lumines live. I put together a 10 minute collection of my favorite songs.

Beautiful Katamari is great so far! The only problem that I'm having is that since the two joysticks aren't in line with each other, my fingers are getting confused with the directions. Ummmmmmm, the music is great! The graphics are smoother and more vibrant. They also look better animated. The only problem I had was with my stupid Xbox 360. The stupid thing screwed up while loading (it happened a few times with Lost Odessey too), so it froze and I lost all of my progress (I just started over again from the beginning). Ugh. sad.gif The Xbox 360 seriously SUCKS for the laser and... well, pretty much everything. Some of my DVD movies screw up during playback as well, I don't get it. But Beautiful Katamari is pretty awesome so far! :>

I don't really understand the grading. For example, on the past course I got 15 CM bigger than the target of 50CM, and I got a 40% rating. That's a load of crap. They give you 5 minutes and I usually get like 90 or higher on the other game that had ratings. I guess they expect more out of you for this one or something.
WILD RIDE
So I started playing Super Metroid for the first time yesterday, and today I super bomb this glass tube, and it's all like crappy underwater physics, and then a gate closes behind me and I'm trapped. I don't think I was supposed to go there yet.

I refuse to go back and word that in a less stupid way.
Eggman of the Strata
No, if you have power bombs, you can go through the entirety of that area. There's just a secret drop through a floor that you're missing.
WILD RIDE
Bleh. Figures, since there's always a breakaway floor somewhere. I just didn't feel like prying myself out of the sand again. Something is seriously not right with the physics.

You normally don't go into Marida until you've gotten the Gravity Suit first. Do you have the Grappling Beam yet?

Screw grapple. It's useless.

I mean, mostly.

Okay, maybe not REALLY useless. But I never use it!

Okay so I USUALLY use it. But still, it has so few applications in the game. It's like the Echo Visor in Prime 2.

I don't have either of those things, but I'm sure I can find them on my own. I was just complaining for the sake of complaining before. I've still got a ways to go before I'll be ready for sleep, so I'll go try again...
Moogy
You don't need the Varia Suit or the Gravity Suit to beat the game!

Just make sure you do a Crystal Flash into Draygon and then kill him from the upper right of the room, so you can Shinespark out of his chamber (Crystal Flashing into Draygon gives you a free Shinespark charge, because of his grabbing physics). Then you've just gotta get into Lower Norfair without the Space Jump and beat it without the Varia Suit. No problem, really.
WILD RIDE
I don't even know what crystal flashing is, or who Draygon is. I only know Zero Mission stuff, and some Fusion stuff, but not that much because Fusion is kind meh. And I am aware that my opinion on this subject, as usual, is not the popular one.

[edit] Oh, and I found the grappling thing, and just beat the Wrecked Ship boss. The X-ray thing kinda trivializes the whole process, but I'm finding myself using it anyway...

But it's not as good as Rez. I need to play through it a few more times.

Damnit stop tempting me to buy Microsoft points I don't have the money right now and if I buy Rez then I'm just gonna have to grab Geometry Wars and Lumines Live and maybe some other things too.

At least my roommate finally finished Rez, so now I'm not SO tempted yet. Need a few more weeks, until I get everything paid off...

dude my copy of that got scratched when I was bringing it over to a friend's like 10 years ago and as a result the game freezes whenever I go more than a screen or two into the final dungeon
it's a bummer :<
Eggman of the Strata
Well, Soul Nomad ended up being pretty bad. NIS games have just gotten so cut/paste. Ooooh there's a badass evil guy, a stupid girl and a mysterious person! And the badass makes fun of the others while talking about how great he is!

Soul Nomad's really not very good because it really doesn't explain anything. It gives you new stuff to use but tells you nothing about what anything does. And the story is boring.

Oh well, back to GameFly it goes. What PS2 RPG should I play? Or PS1, for that matter. I was thinking Shadow Hearts 2 or 3 or maybe a new game+ of Digital Devil Saga 2. Ahhhh I just don't know.

Sounds like Phantom Brave, except I really liked what I played of that, and wish I could get back into it. I should make a new file, it's not like I'm doing anything...I probably won't.

I definitely recommend Shadow Hearts Covenant. I'm working through From the New World right now and the story isn't nearly as engaging, but Covenant was solid all the way through.

Bushido Blade is unappreciated also

It had its problems but dear god we need more games like that. I would kill for a Bushido Blade 3 with good graphics and less hilarious voice acting.
Moogy
Phantom Brave is an absolute masterpiece from a gameplay perspective and easily captures the title of best SRPG. The storyline is a bit generic, but the characters have hearts, so I can't dislike it too much. And the soundtrack is outstanding in every area - it's definitely Tenpei Sato's best work.

Soul Cradle, on the other hand, is some random shit N1 made with leftover budget from Disgaea 2. It's seriously bad.

Oh I've played the entire SH series more times than any other PS2 RPG series. SH2's probably my favorite RPG (at least on PS2. In all of history, it'd be probably #2 or 3 though).

From the New World really picks up when you get closer to the end but it's much more based on character interaction than the actual plot.

just curious, but what are the other 2 RPG's in your top 3 favorites of all time? based on what you say, i may decide that SH2 will be the next RPG i start once i finish up Lost Odyssey.

Oh, haha. Well at least we mostly agree. XD

I just finished Macchu Picchu in SH3, I guess I'm like 2/3 of the way through the main storyline? I really love the design of the heroes (which is kind of a SH staple) but the villains could use some work. I'll take your word that it picks up though, I haven't finished a PS2 game since the summer and I'd like to get this one under my belt now that I've gotten so far in it.
Toph
Oh yeah, I think Phantom Brave is really cool, too. Even though the story battles are usually like "rofl here's some Summons"
kappaiidx
SH3:FTNW is probably my favorite PS2 RPG.

And it gets alot better towards the end. I kinda wish they'd release another SH game because I really like that type of battle system. Are there any other RPG's around that have action wheel things or at least make the battles more interactive than selecting something from a menu?
chotto kiitena
Yes, lots?

Look into anything in the Tales series, anything by tri-Ace, any action RPG or the Paper Mario series or Mario & Luigi or even Legend of Dragoon or Lost Odyssey (technically) or something
Mazrim
Yeah, Paper Mario was good for that, and I'd say Legend of Dragoon was my favorite for interactive battle systems in an RPG. It took me FOREVER to get Gust of Wind Dance down way back when the game came out. God forbid the enemy actually try to block one of the buttons in the combo.

The Tales series got gay after ToD2 (PS1) to me but maybe I should try another one.

Paper Mario/Mario & Luigi games are alright but they have really uh.... dumb storylines for the most part.
rmz
I've been trying to get through Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time but something about it can't really keep me hooked. I guess I was expecting more of an RPG than it is?

I do like the action elements from time to time, but most of it feels like simply trying to find your way to the exit to the next screen, without much purpose.

Gay characters, sure, but I think Symphonia and Abyss were amazing, gameplay-wise - especially Abyss with its Free Run system.

Symphonia's plot was interesting enough to keep me hooked, despite its camp; Abyss didn't keep me intrigued enough, but I hear it really picks up like really fucking late in the game.
Moogy
ToA's plot kept me interested all throughout it, but yeah, it really picks up near the end of the game. Luke ends up being pretty GAR.
chotto kiitena
ToA is unbelievably long but quite good.

Symphonia is definitely the best Tales game though. I guess with Eternia (Destiny 2 on US PS1) coming second and either Phantasia or Abyss coming third I dunno.
Moogy
I already preordered FES. From the future.
Eggman of the Strata
Rebirth is by far the best Tales game. I actually went through it with a printed out english script. Loved every second.

ToA actually got pretty lame later on. All the plot points just drag on and characters come back to life and it's sort of annoying.

I thought Legendia was terrible originally but wow it has probably the best OST. It's also insanely long. It's just lame when you can't throw anything early on.

Is there even a mod for PAL Wiis? Especially one that doesn't have a chance of breaking future games?
