Arcade scores shouldn't be allowed. Arcade / sim scores aren't allowed in VJ Army. I don't think the same should be for pop'n.

I don't have a problem with them, but seeing as Remy said that they aren't allowed, I don't know what to say...

There's a lot of arcade scores still in the system. Just look at all the ones with comments along the lines of "at TRY amusement tower in Japan" or whatever.

I personally don't care because the arcade rule was originally revised because of 8th's lack of 6x and 8x, when you can just simulate them with ojamas anyway (and in this case this score is from a 9th song anyway). But this is up to Remy.

I'm curious as to how you can tell that that score is from the arcade. It looks like it might have been done on a home version, but I don't have any PopN games, so that might be an arcade-only interface.

And the score in question was entered after arcade scores were disallowed. I'm guessing the older obvious ones (based on comments) were put in before Remy disallowed arcade scores.

Yeah, it's clearly the Pop'n 11 interface which is arcade only at the moment.

Using Ojama is NOT like using normal HS6/8. I'd kill to be able to use normal 6/8 on 7 or 8. The fact that it doesn't start right away and that annoying ass WARNING BG screw it up.

If Remy wants to enforce this, maybe send and e-mail to the PNN users, or put something on the popnnavy.com page?

I honestly don't care either way, but that's what remy has decided.

Oh, it doesn't start right away even if you have the 'ojamas last forever' ojama on? Hmm.

Nope.

It's not too bad on Best Hits, because it starts like a measure or less in. But in 8 it takes like 5 seconds on some songs to kick in.

also i talked to remy about it and he said (as long as people dont have problems with it) i can put in scores for best hits, 7 and 8 as long as it isn't slow. i haven't put any scores in 6th cause of the whole framerate issue.

The decision was, officially, along the lines of what Chubs said. Only songs where the HS settings wouldn't matter.

Do people have a problem with this score? Most of the mods people have listed are 6x or 8x.

The primary reason arcade scores have not been allowed for VJA is two fold; there is little way to vouch for posted scores (even taking a picture doesn't give you the song listed), AND there are the well publicized timing issues in 9th/10th/RED - which are what most of the arcades around the US with the game have.

(Can I also note I'm really tired of this conversation?)

Chubs specifically brought this up a while ago.

x6 and x8 on > Pop'n 9 songs - eh, whatever. The biggest difference there is a graphical one, and you could argue that CS-only players have the advantage of using a towel.

We agreed that it's OK if you have pictures and don't use x6 or x8 on <9 songs.

well all i can say is, if you can do it in the arcade, you can do it at home..so, just do it again, no problem, right?

if i owned popn at home then none of this would be an issue cause i probably wouldn't have started putting in arcade scores in the first place.

I get consistently higher scores at the arcade than home. I should also point out however that I have a small controller for home, so perhaps that's it.
