The logo is not final, that is very much official.

so a select bunch of members get access to the source to mess around with upgrading and such, will they be making those changes directly on the site or is there a user testing environment for quality control, or multiple testing tiers, or...?

There is a version control tree with a staging site now (svn postcommit script) along with a trac-based project management system.  What follows is a rough idea as to how we're going to work things after 4.0's release.  I say rough because I just made it up based on a few conversations I've had with Remy and haven't discussed it with him at all.   cool.gif

Those who have access (and, while not as exclusive as it is now, it will be a very limited subset of users still) will commit to the tree for future milestones.  Someone else (remy or myself) will likely review their code after it's in the tree to make sure everything is ok.  When we hit a milestone we'll export the svn tree out to the publicly accessible directories of the site.

It looks fine, but Pop'n Navy's front page really needs to be worked on more. It looks horrid.

This will be fixed after 4.0 goes up - Remy has already said they're going to be basing the new version of PNN on it. So it'll happen soon enough. smile.gif

Looks awesome, and I'm glad PNN is getting some treatment. It defnitely needs a major upgrade. I like this new style a lot.

Since it has Web 2.0 in the name does that mean it will have tagging, RSS feeds everywhere, some form of social networking, and lots of venture capital funding?

And on a more serious note...
Are the status images going to stay the same?

In order:

Not in 4.0, although I'd like to down the road.
No, I don't think so.
It already does.
Don't I wish.

As for the last question: I believe rura has built support for a variant of the new-style sig graphic that was proposed before; I was not entirely sold on the design. I don't know if we're going to go with the new one or not, we shall see.

Very very nice!

Will the difficulty displayed in Song Session Mode reflect the "star rating" shown in game (i.e OML [a] is an 8+) or will it use the 1-12 system?

Difficulties will preferentially use the new happy sky ratings but will fall back to the old ratings if the new ones are not available.

I ment more for things like the anothers on most of the styles... I mean, we all are aware of the 1-12 rating for almost every song in the game (at least the community as a whole has an accepted 1-12 for each song). Even the ones that havent offically been re-rated.

Will we perhaps see something like this as a basis for the difficulties or will we see a buch of harder anothers labeled as 6+ and 7+ still.

Nice icons, chardish. If there's no planned Sudden+/Hidden+ icon, it'd be nice if you made those...
Also, I'd still like to see the return of &akp=1, as a means of filtering scores by non-random entry. Doing it by easy/mirror/hard would be nice as well.

You call it a miracle.

Others opt to refer to it by its ORIGINAL NAME

Very, very, very cool.

Are you testing IE though? It's rather infamous for not playing nice with standards-compliant rich pages. And if Firefox doesn't like the new design, I'm going to burn you at the stake.

Okay, enough sounding hostile. Can the SVN repository be open read-only to the public? It'd be really neat to see the inner workings of VJ Army, and also give you a good way of evaluating potential contributors (they send you patches and you examine them). Obviously, make sure your SQL passwords and the like are not in the repository in any shape or form first!

I'd rather have us just use the Hibroad difficulties. Those are pretty spot-on; if anything they rate slightly low (i.e. a few 10s that feel like 11s and 11s that feel like 12s).
I haven't looked very closely at the site you posted--never seen it before--but I skimmed it and they had Jelly Kiss remix at 9. That seemed low to me. Hibroad lists it as a 10 which seems about right.

I second Hibroad. For singles play I think they've rated everything correctly. I think BtE is easier than Pollinosis, which doesn't say much. For doubles play neither Hibroad nor Konami are right all the time, but at least they're consistent with each other.

I like the new song session page! But I have one request: can you squeeze the comment field in there? Often times I'll write something like "PC later" or "misscount = 2" to remind myself that I want to improve my clear status later.
