I used to play Drop Out on x1.5 on EXTREME and everyone thought I was crazy. This was before ITG came out and speed was fashionable in dance games.

Honestly I used to be into high speeds but I've found lately that I do better if I drop the speed down a full number and use sudden+ instead. So I'd play a 170bpm song at HS2 with sudden+.

Yeah, a couple months ago I started using sudden+ instead of just playing everything as fast as possible and I pretty much instantly improved a whole lot. I can still play really easy stuff at a standard speed, but about 10s and up just won't go well at all for me anymore if I don't shorten the lanes.

On doubles I still play full speed though, and given how badly stuff like Ballad for You and The Last Song (where I have to sudden+ half the screen even at HS5) go for me, I'm not sure that's going to change much, at least as long as I play doubles so far from the tv. It's a lot easier to watch both sides when I'm looking at the whole playing field.

Of course it was cheating 'cause Oni mode didn't allow them.
Man, that was back when people even enjoyed playing Oni mode. The memories....

Nice videoes

A [a] 191 BPM @ 4.0 speed, score 197 088 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DiPQlnjrmxI
Les filles balancents [a] 180 BPM @ 4.5 speed, score 201 962 http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm2874745

The soylent green index is 248 and 245 respectively (calculated with sudden+50, however he's not actually using any sudden+ except for the start of A, which is 5.0 speed and sudden+471).

He has the world record score on both of these songs, the les filles balancents video is the actual record.
He's also set the world record score on Virkato Flames, Steel Needle, Sakura 桜桜桜, Luv to me (ucchie's edition), Little Little Princesses etc.

248 and 245 really aren't that bad, I can play 250 comfortably on troopers. How is this impressive again?

I'm really curious here: Does that include doubles, and does that include barless? Singles charts with bar like that aren't bad, doubles with bar is painful, singles no-bar is really tough, and doubles no-bar... thats pretty much impossible (For example, NOBODY but NOBODY plays bemera nightmare barless).

Sorry for the derail.

DOLCE has the record on A with a -29 from max. Why are you using data from troopers?
