Because straight AAA/AA/A count isn't very accurate, and while by n/h/a was better, it still had a long way to go. We can do better, because now there is more info on SWB. In any case... I think this actually is a good way to rate how good people are in proportion to each other too (well, it would be much better if there were finer grained %age breakdowns, eg 96%, 92%, AAA line, 85%, 82%, AA line).

SINGLE PLAY RANKINGS:
nth) DJ CHKN: SP, 11830.7 Points, 92.28% of Max
n+50th) DJ CLICK: SP, 156.5 Points, 1.22% of Max
2000th) DJ W0FL: SP, 9.8 Points, 0.07% of Max

DOUBLE PLAY RANKINGS:
nth) DJ CHKN: DP, 242.9 Points, 1.67% of Max
1000th) DJ W0FL: DP, 15 Points, 0.1% of Max
n+1000th) DJ CLICK: DP, 0.4 Points, 0% of Max

PEOPLE I UPDATE:
DJ CHKN (871)
DJ W0FL (2412)
DJ CLICK (2214)

EXPLANATION: I made a spreadsheet to do this, so all you have to do is tell me you want to be updated, singles/doubles/both and give me your ID, and i'll plug it in and post the results. Get on the list, and I'll update you once a week. If you want to be updated more than that just bug me, and if you want I'll e-mail you the tool. It is an excel spreadsheet, and it has a decent set of instructions.

Each level difficulty is worth twice as much as the one below it (6's are worth 1 point, 12's are worth 64 points, 1's are worth 1/32nd of a point, and so on... 2x 11*AAAs are worth as much as a 12*AAA, and as much as 8x 9*AAAs.)

ALSO. Each grade is worth about 1/4 as much as the one below it. So a 12 A is worth the same as a 10*AA is worth the same as a 8*AAA. This goes all the way down to Ds. An 11*D is worth the same as a 1*AAA, and a 9*A is worth the same as a 5*AAA.

Plugging in all of this, the maximum points are 12820. Now, its not perfect (all the 12s are worth slightly less than all the 11s are worth slightly less than all the 10s), but its a pretty good breakdown. At least I haven't seen anything nearly as advanced. A 1*AAA is worth 1/2048 as much as a 12*AAA. BTW, max points for doubles is 14526 (more 12* and 11*). And yes, someone could beat a crappy player (read: me) by getting a 10*AAA on each of SP and DP.

Approximate breakdown (for single play. i can do double as well):
All charts 1-12* are worth 12820.
All 1-3* are worth 23 TOTAL (.18%)
All 4-6* are worth 473 TOTAL (3.6%)
All 7-9* are worth 3236 TOTAL (25.2%)
All 10-12* are worth 9088 TOTAL (70.8%)

DJ W0FL (2412)
DJ W0FL: SP, 9.8 Points, 0.07% of Max
DJ W0FL: DP, 15 Points, 0.1% of Max

DJ JIMBO (1455)
DJ JIMBO: SP, 9931.7 Points, 77.46% of Max

DJ CLICK (2214)
DJ CLICK: SP, 156.5 Points, 1.22% of Max
DJ CLICK: DP, 0.4 Points, 0% of Max

DJ CHKN (871)
DJ CHKN: SP, 11830.7 Points, 92.28% of Max
DJ CHKN: DP, 242.9 Points, 1.67% of Max

I think its safe to say that I'm better at singles than I am at doubles. I think its also safe to say that JIMBO is 1000x better at singles IIDX than I am. Its also safe to say that I'm 40x better at doubles than CLICK. Also that CLICK is 15x better at singles than me, and that JIMBO is 60x better than him. Its also safe to say that CHKN is somewhat better at SP than JIMBO, i think. Also safe to say that CHKN is at least 15x better at doubles than me, but he really doesn't have very many scores filled in, so if he felt like it he could probably crush me 100 to 1.

If you want the tool, I'll e-mail it to you. (unless you're schala, in which case i want to see your doubles scores, since you claim to have passed everything. i believe her, but i want to see.)

tl;dr: i made a fancy tool for ranking. Maybe Taren should incorporate it into SWB.

SP all clear ≠ DP all clear

There are close to 20 uncleared songs still for USA players

I first started playing a few years ago when Beatmania was released in the US, I guess it had been out in Japan for a while.. but I didn't know. (How could I? I live in Minnesota Fujimori!! LOL! GETIT?) I was walking through Target with my mommy, buying me some new Suave shampoo (I love the way it makes my v*gina feel! hehe!) and candy that my mommy gives me when I do all my chores for the day. smile.gif I walked into the video game department by chance, and saw a DJ mixing table pictured on the side of a Playstation 2 video game box, boy did I think it looked cool! I've always looked up to those DJs on MTV that I see all of the time, so I wanted to be like them... I was able to get my mom to buy the game for me for an early Birthday present (She is so nice sometimes!) I got home and was troubled by the difficulty of the game, but I kept at it. I'm finally able to receive a letter "C" grade on a few songs, which I think is pretty good. (I even have a few "B"s under my belt! Ha! Ha!) I actually haven't played the doubles mode but I read these forums quite frequently so I know a thing or two about all 10 Japanese import versions of the game. "DONTCHA MEAN 15?" NO, I DON'T COUNT THE FIRST FIVE
