Do they still only offer variable turntable weight, key silencing to Japanese customers? That was kind of really lame.
Is it really worth paying more than a Dao for an unproven product? Even if Dao is CHINESE MAN Actually how do you know this operation is Japanese exactly? Ning is not a very Japanese sounding name. -------------------- ![]() |

Sanwas as standard, 5000 yen less with SwitchLabs Sanwas are not standard on the NRC-300 SOLO it appears. The website states "Sanwa +9000 YEN" on the NRC-300 SOLO page. They are standard on the NRC-500 SOLO though. -------------------- My Pop'n List

Those prices are exorbitant, even by custom ASC standards.

I think I'll stick with Dao, I accept nothing less than the finest Chinese lead in my controller that I rest my hands on for hours every day.
Why are these things so expensive anyway |

Yeah... As far as I can tell, they're DAOs with prettier turntables, faceplates, and construction like the better daos (I had one FP7 that used wood for the internal shell, which was great, and one which used styrofoam, which was not so great). And as far as I can tell neither of the reviews came from people who have used daos before, so...
I wouldn't be entirely surprised if its somebody buying DJ dao controllers, modifying them, and reselling them for mucho bucks. After all, its not like DAO would even have a problem with that - every controller that NING sells would really be one that he sold. Edit: And also if they're sold/shipped out of japan, that gets the 'oh, we no longer need to deal with china' hesistation that some people have out of the way. -------------------- My new hobby: DJ and stage lighting. Here's a sample of how my rig has progressed over the last several months...

This is well and truly a japanese operation, look at the website and contact details.
At first I thought the price difference could have been a chinese factory VS japanese factory situation, but now this has me feeling pretty iffy. Check out this http://www.djdaojp.com website which I found via http://www.1stpi.net/ (which covers NING as well) They're asking for 47 800 YEN for an FP7 here http://www.djdaojp.com/index.php?main_page...p;products_id=3 Let me repeat that, FP7 at bemaniasc.com costs $180 USD, FP7 at djdaojp.com costs 47 800 YEN ($530 USD). That's a standard FP7 setup with honeywells, what's funny is they're offering the key silencing options for it! What do you guys think? -------------------- ![]() |

I played on one of the NRC-300's with sanwas. The controller was very nice. Very solid, well built, turntable was very smooth.. no misfires or anything. But, the price is way too expensive, and I get better scores on the KOC. Nice controller though.

Not half as excited now as I initially was about this controller. I'll keep looking at a DJ DAO RES with the black DD finish and white/pink LEDS I think ![]() -------------------- ![]() |

I'd like to see how a few more people who have played on DJ Dao controllers and the like would compare this before making judgments.

Jesus, that's a pretty expensive option. I like the arcade keys and all, but I remember my old ASC being louder than hell. Over 50k yen for a controller seems really excessive. -------------------- Twan says: so what possibilities are there

Yeah I am pretty confident that DJ DAO and DJ NING are the same except DJ NING is Dao's Japanese contact or NING is just reselling DAO's controllers for more cost. Just compare:
http://www.djdaojp.com/index.php?main_page...p;products_id=3 http://www.dj-ning.com/index.php?main_page...p;products_id=9 the options stuff at the bottom of each page makes it especially obvious. |

Yes, I have some questions about your controllers [2:36:29 PM] ファーストピーアイNanao says: OK^^ [2:36:37 PM] N says: ^^ [2:37:12 PM] N says: are they chinese man? Nanao says: No Japanes^^ [2:37:52 PM] N says: okay^^ but the www.djdaojp.com controllers [2:38:01 PM] N says: are they the same as DAO? Nanao says: DJ Ning is It designs in Japan, and it manufactures it in China. [2:40:45 PM] N says: I have one more question [2:40:53 PM] ファーストピーアイNanao says: ok [2:41:08 PM] N says: Why should I buy a djdaojp or NING controller instead of a bemaniasc.com [2:41:24 PM] N says: the price difference is quite large ^^; [2:41:38 PM] ファーストピーアイNanao says: oh><^^ [2:42:50 PM] ファーストピーアイNanao says: Parts used are high-quality. The fault of DJ DAO is corrected and it designs in Japan. Nanao says: The substrate is designed in Japan. Nanao says: Therefore, the cost of manufacturing is high. Nanao says: ^^ [2:43:25 PM] N says: I see [2:44:57 PM] ファーストピーアイNanao says: The cost rises very much when manufacturing it in Japan though I wanted to manufacture in Japan in reality. Therefore, it manufactures it in China. Nanao says: ^^ [2:59:48 PM] N says: Can I write your answers in a IIDX forum? Nanao says: I will go to Beijing from tomorrow. However, she is in Japan. [4:47:10 PM] N says: I see [4:47:15 PM] ファーストピーアイNanao says: ^^ [4:47:16 PM] N says: business with DAO? Nanao says: It works in cooperation with Mr. ning who is Chinese's friend. [4:48:13 PM] N says: I see [4:48:32 PM] ファーストピーアイNanao says: there is a Japanese engineer, too. Nanao says: DJ Ning is produced in the technology of Japan and the technology of China. [4:49:10 PM] N says: but djdaojp controllers are made by dj dao yes? Nanao says: DJ DAO is DJ DAO Only [4:49:30 PM] N says: and DJ NING controllers made by someone else? Nanao says: yes [4:49:51 PM] N says: I see [4:50:17 PM] ファーストピーアイNanao says: DJ Ning is ,My friend's Mr. Ning is producing. [4:50:50 PM] N says: Okay ^^ [4:51:01 PM] ファーストピーアイNanao says: Please my best regards. Nanao says: Because the import agency commission is added, the price is different. [5:00:59 PM] N says: but why don't japanese buy a DAO controller from bemaniasc.com instead? Nanao says: No, it buys it. [5:01:31 PM] N says: and save ~20 000 yen [5:01:52 PM] ファーストピーアイNanao says: The person who wants to import it cheaply buys it there. Nanao says: However, it is unwarranted when importing it from Mr. DJ DAO. Nanao says: The guarantee in Japan adheres when importing it from us. It is a difference of the price difference, [and high import fee from china, djdaojp is local postage for Japan.] Nanao says: We use it properly by the customer. -------------------- ![]() |

Thanks for the interview excerpt. Probably Dao would give better answers: Ning has good reason to deny being a reseller of DAO. Dao has a little less reason to deny that. In fact, if they're not the same Dao might claim that his are better. It'll be really hard to know until someone who knows both compares them.
