Translated with Excite:
"The theme of the new game is that of summer skies with overflowing feelings of coolness. * The image is completely changed from that of the red feel of IIDX 11 * The image of the main theme is that of summer skies with overflowing feelings of coolness that will coincide with the game's summer release (BETTER PLAY RISLIM -REMIX- OMG) * A new, refreshing play sense is offered to veteran IIDX players New songs will boost the total song catalog to over 350! * We will deliver all of the best songs from prior IIDX games * Over 45 new songs will be included, and we have taken user opinions into consideration for these new songs * Over 350 total songs, more than ever [weekly/internet ranking stuff] * Easier beginner's mode play [e-amuse info] That's about all I could get out of it. |

AC Beginner is different from the CS beginner. This is stated on the 9th CS site.

All right all right, here I am to save the day.
IIDX 12 HAPPY SKY Theme is summer sky, as opposed to the red of RED New play style/feeling for the hardcore players (new gimmicks? dunno) 45+ new songs, 350+ total songs Lots of RANKING types. 2 or more new options for hardcore players. Easier BEGINNER mode. e-AMUSEMENT stuff enhanced. The graphs from RED are going to be improved as well as the cell phone application. Light blue. |

How many songs are usually in an AC style?
I don't like the sound of "hey, let's put a shitton of songs into this next mix/style, including lots from people's suggestions!" (see: beatmania The Final, DDR Extreme). I'm too cynical, sorry. ![]() |

QUOTE(sanchny @ Mar 25 2005, 01:00 AM) Well, as for recent styles, 9th had 60 new songs, 10th had 55, RED had 52 (give or take one or two). And if this Happy Sky BS is true, then it'll be around 45, which puts new songs on the decline :`(! -------------------- |

If the 6 or 7 9CS exclusives are already counted on that list, we're only getting 38-39ish new songs. Of course, this is assuming the thing is even real. :-p |

45 new songs really isn't that much by comparison to 9th or 10th.
QUOTE(Wolfeditor @ Mar 24 2005, 09:54 PM) Looks like it has a beginner mode... and if it has DXY! I hoped they changed it. There's no way that song on beginner is a 1, I had to use three hands to pass it. They fixed that with 7th. And anyway, RED had beginner as well, which was different to 9th/10th's (which just filtered out all songs over 3 stars) which was different to the CS beginner mode. RED's beginner had a bunch of 1* songs at regular speed and it wasn't possible to lose gauge on them, so as soon as you reached 80% you were guaranteed to win. I assume HAPPY SKY's will be the same, only easier (as if it needed to be - seriously, it doesn't). -------------------- ![]() |

QUOTE(XytharDX @ Mar 25 2005, 05:52 AM) Maybe they're making it easier to release in the U.S?!?!? No, probably not. Calling it "HAPPY SKY" would give some people a reason not to play. Seriously though, my arcade needs an IIDX machine. Maybe HAPPY SKY is an acronym like RED was ....yeah |

I'm guessing that they are going to allow players to use Random+ and Mirror+ for internet rankings if it is talking about 2 new modifiers being allowed. This still sounds a little fishy.

I noticed the phone number on that flyer and decided to look for it on Konami's website. I couldn't find it on Konami's "contact" page - there were several phone numbers on there (most of them do indeed have "573" in them), but that number wasn't there.
http://www.konami.co.jp/inquiry/cgi-bin/in...PAGE_NAME=index EDIT: I put the number on Konami's website search engine, and found nothing. It's not because of how I entered it, because it found instances of other phone numbers just fine. I'd be willing to call this busted. EDIT2: Putting this into Google also yielded no results. -------------------- |

Our home versions have what, 60 new songs, 25 repeats, and 5 new songs on average? Remember - that 45 doesn't include unlockables. Plus 7 songs that will not unlock if you're not on the network = 52 total new songs when 12 CS comes out. Or however many.
I saw someone play Gigadelic beginner today. I think it was rated 1* ![]() -------------------- Life is short. Don't YOLO too hard. :P

I read about this style on a0.com earlier today and I have to say I was quite surprised to say the least. Do IIDX styles usually have this close of a sequel (time-wise)?
As for the name, I think it screams "OMFG WE LOVE BLUE BUT WE CAN'T USE THE NAME BECAUSE BLASTOISE WON'T LET US SO LET'S MAKE IT SEEM REALLY ENVIRONMENTALLY-FRIENDLY LIKE SUPER MARIO SUNSHINE AND BORE THE CRAP OUT OF THOSE NORTH AMERICAN IIDX MACHINE IMPORTERS!!!OEN1111OENOENE111OnEoENoeNEO"... Yeah. That's what I think about the name. If the game is supposed to be a reflection of Japanese summers, who knows what'll happen except for Rislim -remix-. ![]() |
