So, I am watching more and more Tatsujins, and seeing that Sran is in quite a few of them. What is the fascination with Sran?

Does anyone use it as a way to get over walls like 40 to 41?

I have used it on lvl 35< just for the fun form factor, but what does everyone else see in it?

Also, I really hope to see more sran in the Konami Topranker 2008.

It's basically a SHITLOAD harder than any regular chart, minus a few like IMPLANTATION EX. It makes ou better by making you hit more jacks, elbow chords, and generally being gay. Sran works differently in AC than it does on CS, in CS it's basically a hyper version of random that changes every 3 beats or so, but in arcade it's actually TRUE random. Notes go wherever, and you can get like 7 of the same note in a row on a drumroll on AC. That will never happen on CS eunless you have a 4-note jackhammer and a 3-note jackhammer or something, and the 3rd beat is inbetween them.

srandom is fucking amazing and everyone should play it. i cant speak for everyone but from personal experience, i dont think i would be nearly as good as i am today if i didn't play hard songs on srandom on almost every extra stage. its a lot easier and funner than it looks.

It's quite great for when you hit walls. I've been playing S-random alot lately and I'm definatly seeing an all around improvment at a much faster rate then if I were to constantly play normal charts.

but in arcade it's actually TRUE random.

this is entirely not true fyi

Try playing, for example, symphonic metal ex srandom at the arcade, you will get the same 2 patterns over and over in the beginning. Shit like that also crops up in, say, Caribbean Beats ex where the 16ths will all either be doubletaps or have no jackhammers at all.

That's odd, I guess I need to play it more in general, but I was pretty sure that's how it worked mellow.gif

S-Random is the only way to get better once you reach a certain level.

Wrong: There's no Asian Area topranker for pop'n, but there will be a tournament. It will be Japanese players only.
