so seeing as Xythar is moving to Japan he offered to lets his precious ransai sit at my house so that it'd get some productive use while hes over in japa enjoying popn adventure. Anyways seeing as i now have a fully working AS for a year to fiddle play aroud with i finally decided to play popn for serious (thats right. Fo' serious!)

As i think XYTH has mentioned i the past i usually play with beat-pop on...and pass some pretty hard stuff. However seeing as i'm starting a real popn tansition i wanna release the urges to stick o the good old beat pop and play with the little anoying faces that everone seems to love. However the transition is proving really really hard as i'm struggling with 31s when i could pass 38s with beatpop on...

Bottom line is: Is there any tips that can help get over the transition from beat-pop to regular skin?

I actually started out using beatpop-kuns as well. I just remember playing tons to get over it. Thats all I can really think of, is just play a lot of songs that you are good at until you are used to the regular pop-kuns.

Since you're such a good IIDX player, it shouldn't be that hard to adjust, just play for a few hours straight one day to learn the spacing/placement of the buttons and everything, and it'll be muscle memory more than reading ability.

You could just, you know, stick with beat pop.

Even though I use regular popkuns fine I still play beatpop on occasion and I think I actually do better.

a quick comparison so far after two days of playing:
Lamento Hyper:
97k Beat-pop
91k Pop-Kun

Theres just a slight margin of difference i'd say....but i Am getting better (lotsa 95k+ scores on 30-35s now)

Playing with beatpop makes "mostly pop'n" players think you're a big dork, usually. Just a heads up. ohmy.gif

I've never really seen anyone over the level of like 35's using beat-pop and using it actually completely fucks me up and I don't even think I could pass 40's with it. Probably because the notes are so dark and blend in with the lanes compared to IIDX.

Actually this is probably pretty true except for the people who start playing pop'n through IIDX.

VgameT played Psychedelic Trance EX with beat-pop on and immediately had a flashback to the horrors of Andromeda [a]. His funeral is later today.
