I've been wondering for a while now, but how does the difficulty setting in options mode work exactly, does it make the groove gauge more lenient, or the timing more lenient? It'd be a lot easier to get high scores if it was the latter ._. Either way, mine's been set to four, and I've pretty much neglected to even go into options till now, didn't notice till very recently. What difficulty do you guys normally play under?

its only cheating if you claimed to have passed a song but cant do it with the default difficulty imo. it dosen't change the timing window

Groove Gauge only. As I recall the default is 2, so it would be cheating if you claimed to have passed songs when it was set to 1. Even on 10, because everyone plays 10 with it set to 2 so it's important to put everyone on the same level playing field (even if it is harsher than previous games).
