And how is this different from 80% of the music found in Bemani?

I dunno, if you find songs like I'm In Love Again to be sophisticated compositions than you need to rethink whose musical standards you should be insulting.

I didn't say I'm in Love Again was good. The problem with xepher is the entire thing is just BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM DUNUNUNUNUNUNUNU *drumroll* and there's nothing interesting about it at all as far as percussion goes. So basically, it's the opposite of every Slake song ever made. Hell, I'd say Xepher would be better without its sad, sad 4-on-the-floor bass. But not by much!

what is my problem with man, you ask?

I will give you that Xepher's percussion is extraordinarily cheesy and could use a serious rewrite.

I dunno...like most Bemani music, I simply listen to it when I'm in the car (simply because listening to orchestral works or other pieces of music that are intricately woven tends to get me into near-misses because I stop focusing on the road) or when I'm playing the game. Xepher, to me, is hardly the most offensive track in IIDX, or even in HAPPY SKY (esp. in HS), and just because I won't skip the track when it comes on and think the [h] chart is fun to play doesn't mean I don't have at least adequate tastes in music. Maybe I'm just overly sensitive. I guess that's not your fault.

I will also concede, however, that my statement of 80% of the music found in Bemani being absolutely straightforward was hyperbole. I think 60% is a way more accurate percentage (also drawn from my ass).
