There was an Aladdin's Castle (mallcade) somewhere in Milwaukee (I was too young to pay attention to an actual location) with a 5key Beatmania machine and a Percussion Freaks machine. Due to my age then, I don't remember which ones, but I never really played them anyway, despite being interested in watching people play them.
It wasn't until 2004 or so that I actually got into Bemani when I started going to anime conventions and learned of Pop'n Music. As for DDR, Supernova 1 was the first mix I ever played. :S -------------------- |

My first experience with Bemani was DDRMAX2 US back in 2004-05. Every time I hear Dream a Dream I immediately remember that plasticy dance mat smell.

i first played bust-a-groove which i thought was totally awesome. ddr had been released about that time and i thought it was stupid and a copy of the former, but i eventually got around to playing 2nd remix CS.

but my mom bought me Pump it Up before that, but thats not bemani. *and for the record all dance games suck. but PiU owns up on DDR so hard. DDR = Step game PiU = Dance game* |

An arcade in Portland had Technomotion for the longest time. I'm not sure if they still do, but I doubt it.
