Whoops

Anyway I'm going to review the OST. As before I will use one to three stars. (Here 'review' is defined as 'write like one sentence for each song comparing it to other songs by the same artist instead of saying anything actually useful or insightful)

* Skippable
** Listenable
*** Memorable

Disc 1!

Nadeshiko Metal - At least as good as Nadeshiko Rock, if not better. ***
Symphonic Jinraku - Pretty standard Q-Mex. It's pretty good, if not quite up there with his best. **
Oriental Folklore - Good short version, good long version. I think Lunatic Reel was a little bit better (and of course it's like the one Akino song that never got a long version), but this is still very good. ***
Techno Hosomichi - Reminds me of Symphonic Techno from Iroha, but speedier. It's decent. **
Mandolin Step - It's no Babylonia, but still pretty listenable. **
Tea-sy Listening - Probably the best Elektel song in Pop'n so far, definitely a standout for me among the instrumental pieces on this OST. ***
Parabola - Parquets meets electro pop... sorta. Well not really. But I'm down for this, whatever it is. ***
Chip'n Roll - Chiptune guitar solo hell yes. ***
Girls Country - Yeah, not my thing. *
Positive 2 - Pretty forgettable pop-rock, but not terrible. **
J-House Pop 2 - More of the same, but probably not quite as good. **
Electro Rock - yasuhiro abe (although it sounds more like that one Reiji Sakurai song...) It's okay, but definitely a step down from the two Girls Alternative songs. **
Cutie Ele Pop - Definitely has a lot more personality than the last couple of songs Sota has done for Pop'n. Also one of my favourites from Synthesised2. ***
Nu-Style Rockabilly - This is genius. I don't know how the hell PON had this idea but whatever he was doing, he needs to do more of it. ***
Ladies Metal - Over the Night, but not as good. Eh. **
Hyper Japanesque 3 - Mugen, but not as good. Eh. **
Hip Rock 5 - You can probably see where I'm going with these comments. **
Trance Euro Remix - DJ Command, in Pop'n? Yes please. Long version is good too. ***
Getsufuma-den - I had to listen to this again because I couldn't remember how it went, probably not the best sign. It's okay, I guess I wouldn't skip it if it came up. High praise, I know. **
Chamber Pop - I see we've entered the "okay but forgettable" area of the disc. **
Happy Cute Rock - I remember this pretty well from starmine. I don't dislike it, but neither would I call it one of my favourites. It's alright. **
Gekokujo Drum'n'Bass - Hell yeah this song rules. ***
A.I. Date Pop - The music itself makes this listenable, I'm really over ALT at this point though. **
Lovely Kunoichi Pop - Better than Capsule Princess at least, Keiichi Ueno is pretty awesome but SATOE is still really annoying. Average that out, and this one goes squarely in the middle. **
Ikki - I don't think Butapunch ever makes bad songs. Well, almost never, but this isn't one of them. ***
All the long versions are pretty good!

Disc 2

Reckless Rave - It's kind of funny to hear SENGOKU RETSUDEEEEEEEEEEEEEN but honestly I'm getting kind of sick of Gold Rush by this point and usually skip this when it comes up. *
Forest Snow 2 - This song is excellent, Nekomata Master just keeps getting better and better. The lead instruments are great, the bassline is great, the percussion is great, it's all awesome and even has a bit of my favourite instrument Reflection into the Eden in there as well (although I have no idea what it's called). Long version is great as well. Basically this song rules. ***
Des-Nawa - Oh boy the world's shittiest remix apparently needed an even worse version, sounds great!! *
Jongara Spiritual - It's Tsugaru, we've all heard this a million times before. But I still listen to it because I like shamisen. **
Heat Up - Another excellent HHH song. ***
Aranami Enka - Not at all my thing. I have heard enka before that I didn't hate, but this definitely isn't it. *
Momo Visual - More interesting than Ladies Metal, but still kind of forgettable. good-cool's offerings this album are a little disappointing I guess unless he did something else that I'm unaware of. **
Melodic Speed - ALL MY TRINITY ARROW **
Psychobilly - No eyepatch, no PUT YA GUNS ON. ***
Jinki Progressive - Fuck yes this song rules. Best 96 song ever and I hope it makes it into GF/DM as well. ***
Funky Kota - Apparently a real genre! I was surprised. It's not bad. **
Tai-Ko Hip-Hop - This is so wannabe-dj-nagureo it hurts, but I like it a lot. I'd love to play it in IIDX actually, the scratching sounds really fun. ***
Muhon Trance - Opera Inori? It's okay. **
Senran Emaki (Sekigahara) - Yes thank you we really neeeded a new song by Des-ROW and some Yodogawa Djorkaeff wannabe. *
Paradise Showa - It's okay. **
Megane Kayou - This can only be awesome. And it is! ***
Kurofune Funk - Hahahaha this song rules so hard and the long version rules even harder. HO HO HO, PERRY CHRISTMAS ***
Hip Rock 3.5 - I didn't care that much for this in GF/DM, so bringing it back now doesn't make me like it any more. *
Gin Rock - I really don't know how to feel about this song. It's pretty unique and memorable but the vocals just sound... kind of off. I guess two stars for now. **
Mongol Remix - It's not bad, but I think the original is better. **
Fluch - Pretty good Asaki. It's on par with his earlier stuff, which is a lot better than his other recent Pop'n songs. ***
Manyouka - I was surprised to hear this kind of song from onoken, but it's a good surprise. Really nice flute, vocals, everything really. Long version has a great piano solo. ***
Zenpou Goen Beats / Sideways Keyhole Beats - Pretty good! I'm glad to see Akira Yamaoka go out on a high note. ***
Oriental Mythology - Kind of like Shamshir Dance in nature, I guess. It's pretty good. ***
Dogu Techno - This song owns ***
Furu Koto - Decent, but I think this comes up short to the similar but much better oratorio. I kind of feel like the quality of Pop'n boss songs might have peaked at Niente. **
Nengo Rock - The alternative title "Hideo Suwa Hits On Your Grandmother" was unfortunately rejected by Konami. Shame. ***

Long versions on this disc own as well!

I probably won't bother with disc 3 since nobody cares about it. Overall, best pop'n music soundtrack since Adventure.

I have no idea. At least with Munagoto no Umi it was just a really obscure pronounciation, but with Kagachi it makes no sense to me at all.

Psychobilly - literally listened to this song on repeat for like 90 minutes when I first got the ost 10/10

yeah Pretty much.

These reviews are good but I'm not doing one because half the entries would be like "this is gay" "this is boring" "oh great someone made a terrible song that is 222 bpm i guess we had a nice thing going up until now though"
I like 辞世テンレート, 序, electronic or treat, 旗, AKATSUKI, NOBUNAGA, 蛇神, and maybe a few other things but nothing is really too memorable besides those

to be fair I didn't like the original foundation of love either, so it's not like I'm just hating on dj command there
I do hate him though don't get me wrong

Here's something interesting to do, compare the original Forest Snow with Forest Snow 2. While I still like the original one a lot, it's pretty incredible how much 猫叉Master has improved over the last four years. The original song had nice instruments but a pretty basic beat and then Forest Snow 2 comes in with better instrumentation, an awesome bassline and complicated percussion all the way through. Goddamnit this song is so great.

Okay here's something I've wondered for a while:
The actual music in Akino songs is always really good. Does she compose it herself, or who does if she doesn't?

A guy named Mizuno has done the composition of all of her pop'n music songs, as far as I know.
