At last, the Pop'n Division is now live:
http://popn.solidstatesquad.com I apologise again for the delays. The whole hacking thing followed by my computer dying pretty much both happened at the worst possible time and then we had some issues with the PNN export XML that we had to sort out before we went live. But now it should all be working, so I'd like to thank all of you who still play Pop'n for waiting (yeah, both of you). A special big thanks goes to our elite Coding Tatsujins jammitch! and Taren for their assistance in working on this site and the upcoming release of the IIDX tracker. Thanks, guys. As with the IIDX tracker, sig images and XML exports are currently offline. I will most likely be redesigning the sig image to work more like the IIDX one as I think most would agree the graph was kind of obtuse. Sign up (you'll need to sign up again even if you participated in the beta), import your scores from PNN (if you get a 'could not resolve host' error, please wait half an hour and try again) and happy pop'n! |

I've added in the functionality for Pop'n related links (View User Page, Pop'n Battle) under your name when you enter your Pop'n ID in your profile. At the moment as with IIDX we just have a placeholder link instead of your sig image.

was there ever the thought of moving the popn database to something that looks like the iidx input scheme? i mean, this is nice and all, but it still looks like it did 5 or 6 years ago

Yes, the next major version of S3 (5.0) will run IIDX and Pop'n from the same codebase meaning that you'll get all the new features that have been in the IIDX tracker for ages. We just need to write it. Which will take quite some time.

I'm assuming you guys aren't going to join the social development scene?
I do have a question though. Are you using source control? If yes, what system? |

Social development?
We're using SVN. Or I'm using it, at least ![]() -------------------- ![]() |

I call things like GitHub "Social Development", since you can wander into and out of users' projects as you please. And the whole "make this repo my own" and "tell the owner I changed something" (forking and pull requests).
I'm assuming the SVN repo is hosted on this server? I'm ultimately asking because I think it'd be cool to help. However/whenever possible. |

It is, and sure. Which part are you interested in working with? I ask because we're not putting a whole lot of time into code changes for the Pop'n site at the moment since ultimately I aim to write a unified codebase that will function as both sites and that would involve not really using the Pop'n code much anymore.
The current site doesn't have any templating but I would be aiming for the new version (5.0) to be. -------------------- ![]() |

I think I'd feel a bit better as a bug fixer than as a new feature guy. And all server side definitely, for some strange reason I just have not learned JavaScript.
I don't mind taking the load off you by fixing things if it frees up time for future / unified development. This post has been edited by VxJasonxV: Jul 7 2009, 11:28 PM |

The IIDX tracker at the moment uses Javascript pretty heavily (and a lot of the current bugs are to do with it) but you can certainly have a shot at it. PM or email me your details and I'll set you up an account for the repository when I get home.

So, I can no longer remember my old PNN password. Is there going to be XML import for S3 Pop'n Division so I can make use of the XML export I got from PNN?

There won't be a way to upload your own XML as that system would be too open to abuse (e.g. modifying the dates of all your scores in the XML to snipe first listed 100k for everything). I can only suggest contacting Remy ('remy' at his domain) to get your PNN password reset.
