Is it not possible to love old-school RE and RE4 at the same time? I kinda do.

While we're on the subject, what's the best 3rd party controller to use for Gamecube RE? Nintendo's sucks balls, and the MadKatz one I was using is starting to die (and was never ideal in the first place).

fucking nintendo making shitty controllers that don't shatter

I've always been happy with Nintendo's controllers, but I find the GC ones poorly suited for old-school Resident Evil. Analogue sucks shit for that kind of control scheme, and I find the d-pad to be difficult to navigate well with.

Final Fantasy Tactics: Find all special characters, max out their job classes
Star Ocean Second Story: Collect all sound files, beat on hard with limiter off

Haha Moogy didn't you do the FFT one?

The SO2 one is impossible since you literally can't get all the sound files without a gameshark. This one's better:

Star Ocean: Till the End of Time: Collect all 300 battle trophies :3

Haha

I need to get a hold of a turbo controller for that. Even my file that I did the 500 chain trophy on only has like 3000 battles. :x

It's not really their fault that they were forced to develop on a console that can't handle their game due to said console's proliferation and the timeframe they developed the game in.

It is however their fault that their finished product has slowdown. If the console couldn't handle what they were doing, perhaps they should have toned it down instead of trading gameplay for cool graphics?

(I've never played Odin Sphere so I don't know if the slowdown really hurts the game all that much. Just sayin')

I.... I am stunned.

Golden Sun was good by virtue of being one of two (or less) RPGs for the GBA at the time. Otherwise I probably wouldn't have bothered with it.

Elemental Gearbolt had a slight difficulty adjustment to better suit the score tournament they held.

テイルズオブデスティニー2 = Tales of Destiny 2

PS2 one, which I don't think was released in the US. (US's Tales of Destiny 2 was for PS1 and was Tales of Eternia in Japan)

I too am currently frustrated with P3's AI, but I love the game anyway.

Act Freely works fine for most situations, but it's the times when you need your allies to do specific things that the AI fails hard. If you have a party that can knock every pull off an all-out attack on a boss four times in one turn, you'll probably only do it once because everyone else is too busy using physical attacks instead of an effective attack, or attacking the same enemy over and over instead of kocking them all down.

Anyway. I've been grinding my Star Social Link so I'll be ready to get the necessary Personas and use Armageddon as soon as possible.

EDIT: I need to mention that Tanaka is really cool.

I bought rez years ago and never finished it

Yes, that's right

I have owned one of the most fantastic, stunning, enjoyable, and well put together games ever, which lasts something like an hour, for an extended amount of time, and I have not finished it.

I'm agreeing with Schlag and ncs; Rez was neat but it is not the crowning acheivment of video games that half the internet seems to make it out to be.

I got Halo 3 because I have a 360 and I'd feel pretty silly when people came over and asked to play Halo 3.

Anyone have it and want to play Live with me? Preferably people who suck because I'm sick of losing on Live.

Lost Planet is on my get list, but lots of stuff is and I'll probably be spending a lot of time with Halo (and Hexic!) before I get to any of them. LP is low on my list under Bioshock, Blue Dragon, Eternal Sonata, Dead Rising, etc.

I started thinking "this reminds me of Eva" about halfway through Persona 3.

I think it was the Shinjiro/Ken event.

VJ Army I need you to make a decision for me:

I have money in my pocket. Guitar Hero III comes out in two weeks. I do not have Guitar Hero II. Should I wait for 3 or just get 2? Will 3 get a standalone release so I don't have the buy another controller?

I always thought 1 and 2 were tough, particularly 2.

But you're right that LTTP and LA were fairly easy and no one complained.

80 hours is really not that bad. It's pretty long for a console game, but nothing obscene. I've got over 100 on SO3, and I've done about 90 on The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion in... I dunno, 2 months or so? I'm not done with either of them. :/

Then again God knows how many hours I've spent on Bemani.
