I started going about a week 1/2 ago, and today there was some kind of thing going on. I was asked if I had a wrist band and that they're available for $6.

Oh, so you're playing IIDX AC here at SVGL, rofl. I was wondering where you had access to IIDX AC in the other thread. Welcome!

So here's the deal - on Wednesdays from 6~10 PM (during summer 8~12 PM), there's this thing called Arcademania, which is unlimited gameplay for $6. You need to purchase a wristband from 6 PM on in order to take part in it.

A similar thing happens on Saturdays from 9~12 noon, but the difference is that not only do you get a wristband, you get a card that will expire at noon. The card prevents people from spamming the "touch to play" buttons to rack up and buffer credits to be used for the rest of the day (although this is still possible using the cards - just in a more limited fashion).

Awesome, thanks for explaining it. I came in around 5:00 or 5:30 PM and at like 7 a guy told me I needed a wristband. I was confused as hell.

Fuck! Your Golfland is infinitely more awesome than ours. Our wristbands are (I think) $9 now, Wednesday 7-10, Friday 10-12, Saturday 10 AM - 1 PM and 10 - 12. Costs more, less time...and on Saturday, after the arcade mania ends, they turn off all of the machines anyway, so all of the credits you dumped in disappear.

AND you guys have Pop'n and a fully-unlocked Troopz. DAMN YOU!

See, they used to do that. Now it's on a somewhat restricted honor system. I uphold that honor as much as possible (more actual money goes into the machines = more actual support for the machines, thus heightening the chance for an upgrade; this only really ever applies to pop'n, IIDX is supposedly so good we're getting upgrade kits as fast as possible). But yeah, on the other hand, your wristband prices suck D:

Also, as I've said to one of the pop'n artist people, what I've overheard is that if Golfland can find another machine, the Fever! kit we've got left over from the Party install is going to make its way over to Mesa. Corey/Ver2 seems to be corroborating this:

...unless i can get a machine fairly cheap, it has nothing to do with Mesa smile.gif

So I guess take that as you will :3

I WILL TAKE THAT AS US GETTING POP'N HOPEFULLY

I'm pretty sick of our locked, constantly broken-keyed Gold, so having something to do there besides play ITG would be awesome.

A Pop'n machine would give me a reason to go up there again. Not much of one, but more than there is now. The IIDX machine is in depressing states of disrepair most of the time, it seems like.

Yeah, since it's about 40 minutes from me now (moved out to downtown Phoenix back in July), it's really not worth driving out there right now. Especially since, even when the IIDX machine IS working properly, I'm usually not playing very well when it's up. I'm terrible anymore. sad.gif

But if we got a good Pop'n machine? I might be there once a week!

Haha yeah, I can see why you don't go very often. I mean, when the arcade repairs one of the broken DM pads by duct taping it down, you know it's a bit iffy to be worth going to.

Well, if and when Empress does come in, I wouldn't be surprised if Troopers went in your direction. And our Troopers kit is unlocked.

But on the other hand, yeah, broken keys suck D:

Yeah, true.

Anyway, rewinding - CG, were you there today? There's a guy who's started coming in to play IIDX and pop'n and he plays 30ishes like Nadeshiko Rock - that you?

That would be wonderful...

...except that I can't think of us ever getting kits from you guys? I may be wrong, but I remember that our Gold kit was some hacked thing they bought in Italy (or SOMETHING) for $3k. And RED was apparently the same way. Pop'n would be a different story, since we've never even had a machine before, so the kit coming if we get a machine seems much more likely...

Oh well, sorry to clog up your thread. The MGL thread is a ghost town. tongue.gif

That's where our Troops kit came from, IIRC. I dunno, if they were talking about doing the "let's give our table scraps to Mesa" thing with pop'n, it must be true for the rest of the games, or that's what I figured.

And it's cool :3 Not like stuff goes on 'round here anyway, and stuff like this potentially has to do with you guys after all wink.gif

No, I'm horrible at pop'n (23s what). I only play it if there are people on the troopers machine and I don't feel like waiting. I come in pretty late like 7 or 8 pm.

lol late response
