Astro Boy: Omega Factor is a cool game until you start playing on Hard and every boss kills you in one or two hits.

Kikaider was really fucking amazingly dumb from what I saw of it on [as] back in the day, which I think was most of it.
Cyborg 009 seemed pretty great from what little of it I saw back in the day on Toonami and it has a good chart. -------------------- I respond so fast I might break the prison glass.

The actual TV series had a different plot than the OVA and the OVA only sort of followed the manga. |

Oh, and there's also the live action version and sequel, which are also different. It's a better read than it is a watch either way. |

They also showed the really terrible OVA follow-up, but that one had a pretty good ending to make up for the rest of it. I'm just now realizing that Kikaider isn't even by Tezuka. Wow. Apparently it was created as a tribute to Astro Boy though so we're cool.
And I'm pretty sure Proto Man was created as an homage to Hakaider/Saburo. Hakaider is Jiro's brother and announces his arrival by whistling. |
