Hello. I'm having trouble at this time getting better scores on the charts I usually play (12s).
I was playing with a green number around 300/305 (the one on sudden+) and noticed I could get better scores by pushing it to 295~292 on hard things like Mendes, Vanessa etc.

I managed to get AAs on most of 12s on Gold (all like +100 exscore), but when I came back to it I couldn't get any near good scores, so I needed to push the green number around 285.
And now I feel like I don't play at the high-speed I'm comfortable with but I always play faster only to get better scores. Is it normal or am I doing it wrong?
I thought the fast players like totoro and lifull played this fast because of this "inconvenient", whereas certain players can play pretty slowly like dolce.

I don't know what's considered slow or fast but in a DJT videos he plays 150 bpm at 3.5 and some sudden+ then in empress videos he plays 150 bpm stuff at 4.0 and sudden+ and in sirius he plays 150 bpm songs at 4.0 and sudden+

Dolce probably switches up hispeeds depending on his mindset, how alert he is, etc. Like for me, using random on a 12 with 250-260 SUD+ green number isnt a huge deal if i know what to expect out of it, but there's no way I'm going to use those mods on AC when playing a song for the first time

Then again most Japanese AC players are much better at this game than I am so take what I say with a grain of salt

On which chart would he play that fast ? I saw him playing fast on things like Andromeda or Paranoia hades, but he is at 295-285 in general. So considering I'm at 295 whereas I'm far away from AAAing 12s, I would be at 250 for this goal.

Am I the only one who needs to speed up for better scores here ? I noticed my scores could change of +-200 ex points just for 5 numbers...

AC scrolls differently than CS though so
I only got to play on an empress machine for like one day but I'm pretty sure my green number was at 270-280 whereas at the time I was using 252 at home

Here's a video I just made to show it more clearly. Vanessa : begin with hs 3.0 no S+, S+ at 292, 285 and no S+ again.
Got my first AA on Vanessa with S+ at 292. I can't even get an A without S+ as I could months ago, and barely do my best with 285.

edit : it would be nice to know if other guys experience the same thing or did at my "level". Or see why ones didn't need HS to improve

your reading speed tends to go up the more you play. I used to play with no towel and like HS3 on 150bpm stuff, but I probably couldn't even clear songs like that now. it's normal!

So french iidx players have a mid AA on Vanessa[a] now.

Looks like the european e-amuse network will have some decent players. I think the music in iidx would be well received in Europe if only anyone knew music games existed overthere.png

We know they exist. No PAL release (ever) for 2DX kinda killed it before it started though.

I actually read slower than I used to. When I started, I was using something like 4.0 speed on 150 BPM songs (with no sudden+), and now I use 3.0 with around 200 sudden+.

I don't even know if there are other french players... Vanessa isn't that hard anyway.
The rhythm'n game community a lot more into DDR, and there's almost no arcades anymore.

Yeah, uh, I was into japanese culture and games and dreamhack and stuff a fair bit and all I knew about was "that dancing game" and "that maraccas game".
while most music games seem non-existant there (some person in germany has an 8th style cab in his apt., and some person in sweden has a happy sky cab in his house, and stsung bla bla)
it seems dancing games have become much more popular over there now, much more popular than here at least.

as far as high-speeds go the most comfortable speeds to visually read at for anyone should be 250, 267, 283, 300, 317, 333, 350
but that's just based on my calculation of frame's per second and is probably horseshit.
