I figure this would be a good place to ask. Has anyone ever or does anyone know if theres a way to mute buttons so they dont make as much noise?

Friend is having a problem with neighbors and parents that thinks buttons presses are too loud.

if I want to play after 9 PM I have to play quietly or else neighbors complain. I get a bunch of towels and shirts and wrap them around the sides of the controller and around the top where the keys and start/select button sit, leaving just enough room to play on. also I sit on the floor to play so if he uses like a keyboard stand or something I'm not sure it'd work.

I use a dao RES but should work the same for a KOC or whatever. but if he has the money DJ NING controllers have an optional button silencing feature I heard but I don't know anything about the controllers or how well the silencing works

if it's microswitch buttons then you can put a layer of paper towel in between where it makes contact on the top half of the button (not the tab that triggers the switch, but the upper housing)

well sadly this isnt going to be applied to a iidx con but a SF4 TE lol. My boy Joo needs a way to soften his sounds while getting Joo moments.

ohh those sanwas are a little different
but you can still take them apart and put a circle of paper towel there
pretty sure

they won't feel all nice and clicky though

edit: damn, do neighbors really complain because of SF4 sounds?
jam softer~

My upstairs neighbours made formal complaints to my estate agent over the sound of me playing IIDX on a modded KOC. Jerks

DJ NING's silencing options involved silicon spray, which you can do yourself, I think that kind of spray is mostly used in defrictionizing clothes fabrics and car interiors or something idk.
He also had three levels of silencing with three prices, anyway I don't know how well it works and his operations are a bit sketchy.

I put a jumper (cardigan) on top of my uskoc sometimes, it doesn't only silence the controller it softens the impact of skin vs plastic and makes pressing keys feel all nice and comfy especially when I use that cuddly lavender fabric softener on my jumper and then it smells nice too :>
