I always wear one.

I heard about this guy that was backing out of his driveway, and got nailed by a drunk driver. He broke both his wrists, his legs, a couple of ribs, and his
back.

Potentially getting fucked up because I wanted to save 1.5 seconds by not putting it on sounds pretty dumb to me

putting a seatbelt on is something i do without even thinking.

taxi's in japan dont hav seatbelts in the rear which was rather frightening, especially when i was in Sapporo. the roads were coverd in ice and montains of snow.

So you're saying you should be able to act like this to a forum administrator, or a teacher, or a police officer, or your own parents and get away with it. You're supposed to respect these folks.

And I bug my passengers to make sure they put on their seatbelts too, always always always, if they don't do it themselves. I don't want to die, and I don't want my passengers to die... by accident.

Who the fuck is stupid enough NOT to? Maybe people who are like 65+ and didn't when they were kids when they lived out on the ranch, but seriously. Cars go faster and faster these days, and more and more people take big risks in how they drive. The least they can do is not break their neck when they drive off the road going 30 over the speed limit in a snowstorm.

Always.

And my passengers too. If Steve sitting in the backseat weighs 150 pounds, and I hit a telephone pole at 30 mph, because God forbid it's a head on collision, then Steve hits me with (mass * velocity) pounds of force. I'd be pissed off if that happened. It'd be like surviving the wreck and then getting hit naked by another car.
