Actually, the popularity of IIDX is an inverse logarithmic curve of the play count of SigSig in arcades.

Really? Huh. I swear I recalled it being listed in the removals from DD.

Either way, I still can't play it at local arcades, and so fuck IIDX.

which means that when Smooch comes out in 16 making SigSig obselete, then IIDX will rise again?

As soon as I saw the poll I was like *BAM* that one. And that year was winning by a landslide.

Although that was the peak, I don't think we've suffered a drop. The audience in 2003 was kind of like 5,000 points, which was doubled over 2002. Don't ask me what the units of those points are. It's just an abstract concept. And then 2004 was more points. And 2005 was maybe 12,000 points or something. I'm not quite sure where we are on my bullshit scale, but we're still over the 10,000 point milestone.

For comparison, DDR is a 6 digit number, and no video game ever made is a 7 digit number. (Even if you think Mario or something, think of the community and the addicts. I'm not rating the size of the target audience.)

GH/RB (for all intensive purposes, one game) and the FF series hit 7 digits on your scale. No question.

To beconservative, If US IIDX now is 10k, then ddr at its peak was more like 200-500k, GH/RB is 1-2m, and FF (around 7-9/T) was 1-2m+. Oh, and speaking of community and addicts, WoW is 10mil+. Yes, there are easily 1,000 times as many people in this country totally seriously involved in WoW as there are in IIDX. I don't think the people are necessarily as cool, the community as funktastic, I don't think its good, I think its true =).

>.> Heh, sorry.

Uhm, anyway...
I just hope the popularity stays up enough to keep the game a profitable endeavor, I really enjoy IIDX. And I'd like to get some friends involved, spread the joy around =).

Anyhoo... I don't really know enough about the community in the past to be a decent judge.

Guess what: that link is incredibly wrong unless they revived it specifically for DJT.

So yeah, I guess it's popular again, if my statement is correct.

According to Purotora's database, Bring Her Down was revived specifically for DJT. It is not listed in the songlists for Happy Sky, DD, or GOLD, so I'm going to assume that MIAB's link is correct and that it has only been in 7th-9th and DJT (and Empress?)
