Wowzers!! Before grading was available, I remember playing Abyss7k alot alot, when 5th style was the newest home release. I think that was my first AAA on CS. I didn't pay attention to money score until that one day, I was like "Hmmm, I wonder if I can get over 190000." Abyss7k happened to be the choice song. I remember breaking 190000 on it that day too. This was like........2001??? I believe. Then waaaaaaaaay later to find out the actual % for AAA and stuff, I never thought about my very first AAA until now. At first I was gonna say either Yesterday7k or Comment Te Dire Adieu7k, but then I thought about it like hmmmmm what about before the grading system. Then I thought of Abyss. So BOOM q:D:D CS was Abyss7k then AC was Yesterday7k or Retrospective(a). q8)

It's looser, but not THAT loose. TGA is a great place to test it since you can hop back and forth between DD & GOLD. Even I almost AAAed Smile of You [A] my first time playing it.

9th AC orange lounge timing was wider than shit, or so people say

Yeah, it was like the game wasn't going to let you finish those songs without earning a AAA. A number of TaQ songs had incredibly loose timing, too, with the odd exception of stoic [a] (which had shit timing, but only the [a] from what I recall).

Oh yeah, let's do a more comprehensive list of "first AAAs:"

First AAA period: love is orange 7k, 9ac
First "post-10th, pre-GOLD" AC AAA: Rugged Ash hyper 8)
First CS AAA: Bit Mania another
First GOLD AAA is none because Hawaiian Brian's has pre-patch timing (old AC, basically)

Well, years and years ago (...I'm talking like I'm 60 or something) there was a player at a local arcade that would bring in 5th style and I would play that on 5 key autoscratch. Two extra buttons was way too hard after playing 5 keys for so long! I liked playing IIDX so much that I went and bought a copy of 6th style when it came out. I played 6th so often the disc is scratched to heck and some videos, Indigo Vision off the top of my head, won't play correctly. Haha. It took quite a while but soon I cranked out AA's and then AAA's.

As far as a first AAA? I haven't triple A'ed anything in the arcades, just cos I've only played AC once. And I don't believe I could AAA anything on 6th style as I was terrible at timing. I want to say around the time 7th style FINALLY came out, I AAA'ed Burning Up For You, 511, Spica, and a handful of other songs. That was also the time I got upset when I couldn't get high scores on super easy 4 stars and under... so I would not play for weeks at a time. Stupid Beatmania *#(%&#, haha! =(!

Just playing it frequently wouldn't cause this to happen.

I'd just like to point out that my first and only 10th AC AAA was Nothing Ain't Stoppin' Us 7K, and it took both SMBU and I three tries each to nab it. XD God, was that game hard to time.

Anyway, I have made a 3-page topic, and demand that people bake me cookies in commemoration of this event.

Fair deal. Consider those cookies baked on Saturday. But if you don't eat them before July, I will.

I sort of agree with sc2970. I got 93% on Crossroads another. Granted, it's easier than LLS to score on. But at home my AAAs are weak. I don't have 93% on 5.1.1.! Well, maybe I do, but you know what I mean. Half my AAAs are definitely under 90%. Just check my LLS scores. And it's not just AAAs in the arcade. I'm scoring about a letter grade higher on everything. I got an A on Andromeda and cleared it, and I can't do that at home. I also A'd and cleared a couple other 11s on Gold that I can't touch on my KOC. I think I also had 145k and 50% on Colors 7A.

I think the timing in the arcade is exactly the same, but the AWESOME SCREEN and the new keys on Gold make such a difference that it's just better than my home setup (obviously), hence the noticeable improvement.

I can't remember what my first AAA at home was. Remy could maybe find it with a query. happy.gif In the arcade my first PC was Gentle Stress on RED. My first AC AAA was on HS but I can't remember which stupid L7 it was. It was probably Don't Stop if that was was on there. On DD I had my first AC PC+AAA which was Rugged Ash. (Whoever called 'first' on that in the Glorious Days forum was wayyyy too late. I just didn't brag about it because I didn't think that 2s counted. Unless they did the hyper. That changes everything. :sarc:)

This is easy enough to answer for me.

If we're counting only IIDX scores, my 1st AAA was 5.1.1. L7 on BMUS. 5.1.1. (the pre-10th Style chart) was also my 1st Hyper AAA on BMUS.

If we're counting 5keys, Jam Jam Reggae was my very 1st AAA, period. aaa.gif

Haven't AAA'd an Another yet, but I'm REEEEAAAALLLLYY close on both g.m.d. [A] and Salamander [A] on 3rd. btns.gif

EDIT: And no, I haven't played IIDX at the 'cade. Ever. I have played BM1 5th Mix AC, though.

I think it is called either btns.gif Stream or Tangerine Stream L7.

Either way, I still only have 2 AAA's ><.

btns.gif

Don't Stop: Too many chords, and ending is too hard for me to time to AAA. I still haven't AAA'd it on L7 or 7K. This song is in desperate need of a revival on a newer style anyway.
Pink Rose: I could replay it and POSSIBLY AA it, but it's a 6* (however easy) and my skills aren't at a point where I can AAA anything that hard.
I'm For Real: Slake Anothers are way too hard for me to time. And the chords. And it's 2-step. 'Nuff said. I'll try it again on RED.
Dr. Love: AA is easily doable, but that one mini-jackhammer keeps me from AAAing this. Speaking of jackhammers:

QUOTE(Monster-in-a-box! @ Jun 21 2007, 03:42 AM) *
I was the one

Uh, yeah, you know that stupid jackhammer at the end? That might be the reason why. I can barely AA it as it is. Jackhammers are a big weakness in my game. To illustrate my point, it took me a year just to clear Paranoia Max [a]. :Innocent Walls:

>.>

Uh, anyway, I can dry my eyes now, I'm no longer an impotent wonder who's still AAA-less on the Another difficulty. This morning, I recently AAA'd g.m.d. [a] on USth Style, right after I AAA'd the 7K. So I'm proud to say that g.m.d. is my 1st Another AAA and the 1st song I've AAA'd on every difficulty, at least on BMUS. aaa.gif

Now I just gotta get Salamander. Only 5 more EX points, yeesh. I hate 3rd's timing. cool.gif
