so this album is out now huh
only listened to preDawn so far. maiko horisawa's voice sounds pretty different when not drowned out by synths and percussion.

Yeah PreDAWN is not at all what I was expecting (probably a good thing because that ShonenA/Ganymede style could very well have gotten overdone and clichéd if he kept using it), but quite good. Kinda like Colors on milestone (kinda), one good classical-ish track is a nice break from the rest of the album.

Also the Photongenic remix is lollllllllll, though on that note I am glad about how a lot of the remixes are in different styles, and oftentimes go in widely different directions than the original tracks. Which makes disc 2 a little bit more refreshing after the mostly trance/hardcore disc 1.

I like the Genom Screams remix because I have a special place in my heart for Genom Screams (being the first beatmania song I ever played) and probably could never hate it nor any remix of it

EDIT: Of course now somebody will probably make a genom screams remix consisting of nothing but barking dogs and fart noises to prove me wrong

I've been listening to the Slake HBG remix looping for about 2 hours now whilst playing Age of Conan.
Man, this song makes everything more awesome.

Holy FUCK these remixes are good. Notable for me on the first disc are:
INTRO
PHOTONGENIC (YESSSSSSSS)
IXION (probably the best LED song ever)
NEBULA GRASPER
SOLID STATE SQUAD
THE SHARP STRIKER
STEEL NUDELE/MEEDLE

Bad stuff on second disc (since less than good):
TYPE MARS (not DAJI but not good enough faggot, good thing this song fucking sucks anyways btns.gif )
LOVELY STORM (just not enough going on sad.gif I love this song too...)

ACID VISION and DAWN remixes are amazing, they're so different from the regular tracks. INFINITE PRAYER remix is incredible thanks to the new buildups. SOTA fixed the worst Denjin song so it's actually decent. PHOTONGENIC remix reminds me of D.A.N.C.E., and that's always a good thing. Bahram Attack is fuciking Bahram Attack. You can't ruin that no matter how hard you try. QUANTUM is pretty cool and much less boring now. OVERBLAST!! surprisingly doesn't suck either, I'm glad he got rid of that Breathless style.

The only thing I feel could have been done better is the Hyper Boundary Gate remix; it's just not lower world remix and I wish it was a lot more like that. SLAKE did an okay job with it but it seems like he's really lost his touch with this and SEQUENCE CAT's irritating repetition in GOLD CS.

The two remixes that topped my expectations more than any others would be Sota's Fatal Attack remix and tkd's Quantum Teleportation remix. I was never crazy about the original versions of those songs, but I enjoy listening to the remixes a lot.

Having listened to most of the first disc between lunch and breaks... this album has more than exceeded my expectations. Just about every track has been improved in one way or the other from prior versions.

I'm the opposite of Gabe, I'm really glad Slake didn't go too overboard with his remix. It's really sweet and like Plaeskool I can see myself playing games like AoC with it looping.

mini song reviews\ratings time i guess!
intro: this sounds like the intro to a teranoid album, except it has NO+CHIN which is a very good thing
the deep striker: 7\10 better than the original in every way
photongenic: 7\10 good long version
ixion: 6\10 I like it more than the original but I doubt I'll listen to it often
the detonator: 7.5\10 could be mindblowingly good if they lost that faggot redneck MC, judged by the way he MCs I bet his favorite IIDX song is the dirty of loudness because of the name\overlays. seriously though this is an intensely good hardcore track but its only downside is it makes me ashamed of speaking english
eraser engine distorted: 7\10 improved version of a great song
dawn: 6.5\10 never too crazy about the original dawn and this more or less seems like an artificial extension.
nebula grasper: 5\10 yawn
jewellery storm: 3\10 this song sucks
the earth light: 7\10 wow the earth light is good now. awesome bassline
solid state squad: 8\10 fucking sick track, even more abrasive than the original. definitely the best of kors k's 3 songs on this CD hah
acid immortal: 7\10 acid vision but decent-sounding and it actually goes somewhere
the sharp striker: 6\10 meh the OST version of giallarhorn was good enough, not that this song is bad or anything
the last striker: 4\10 yawnsauce

genom screams: 9\10 taka takes a lackluster track and completely reinvents it. proof that he's not completely incapable of creativity, as he takes the setup formula to new places with this remix.
the shining polaris: 6.5\10 pretty standard kors k trancecore, but it's good
acid vision allotropy artcore mix: 9\10 amazing tomosuke song, this doesn't sound much like the original aside from the drum loops near the beginning, but whatever it was about acid vision that inspired this remix, it's definitely a good thing.
predawn: 7.5\10 goddammit wac stop using terrible vocalists, everything else about the song seems fantastic though. if he left out the vocals or got new ones this could have been the best song on the album but it seems he wasn't willing to work hard enough for that honor
infinite prayer: 7\10 fantastic ryu remix, and I'm not just saying that because he makes songs like Do it!! Do it!! lately. kind of drags on nonetheless but I enjoy it
denjin fatal: 5\10 sota's music is boring when he uses the exact same style for every song, and he picked a boring song to boot
type mars: 4\10 daji's best song yet!
photongenic: 2\10: this is why I hate yoshitaka, he thinks vocal remixes are cruise control for success when if you look past the vocals (which are mediocre) it's not even photongenic anymore. still better than his song on milestone
Bahram Attack: 8.5\10 totally solid song from nekomata. not sure what he did to the original, if anything, but the bass and drums are obviously his work. he seems to be steadily improving as an artist, at least when he's not making pan flute house music
hyper boundary gate: 9.5\10 slake made this song interesting, which is an accomplishment in itself, and the result sounds virtually flawless. taka and slake seem to be the only artists on this album to really take a song's melody and reinvent it, and this track is a fantastic example of that.
laser clusterrrrr: 7.5\10 unique song, not what I expected at all! kind of drags on at the end though, other than that I can't complain
quantum teleportation: 7\10 this track utilizes quantum's synthline in an odd but enjoyable way. although it still has amateurish sections, this song is a step in the right direction for the ice cube letter fetish guy.
hell scaper: 9\10 basically a long, remastered hell scaper. and goddamn is it ever awesome.
lovely storm: 4\10 I can't remember the last time I disliked a guhroovy song so much.
overblast: 6\10 this has a hard house feel that, when combined with the vocals, are reminiscent of get on beat wild style. this could grow on me

Overall, a much more satisfying album than milestone. Can't wait for the next beatnation CD, even if it's yoshitaka we'll get some awesome remixes yeeeeuh btns.gif

LAST STRIKER is win due to the sound quality on this disc being way better than the TROOPERS OST. that and it's a throwback to L.E.D.'s less hardcore stuff, which i normally prefer from him.

the version of STEEL NEEDLE on this album kills me. in a good way. i don't think i'll ever be able to listen to the TROOPERS cut without thinking it's not bastardized after hearing this.
