I'm going to be in Vancouver from August 11th-16th (give or take the leaving day a few days) and is anyone from this site interested in hanging out? I'm going to be at CHQ probably all day on the 11th.

I will be around Metrotown on the 15th, but that's it. I'll probably play a couple games of DJT AC and lament the lack of unlocks, play a round of Pop'n 14 and then leave in disgust at the buttons.

Trust me, AC IIDX is nice and all but it's tough to play all day when you're so limited on what to play.

You're probably right man. I'd probably play drummania more even if the drum pads are bad.

I happen to be in Vancouver now, is the IIDX at CHQ functional? I got the impression from other threads that its not so consistent?

While I live relatively near the area (I've been there before, but not recently)...lacking a way to get back home from Canada is a bit of an issue wink.gif.

I haven't heard anything that says it's bad. Last time I was there it was fine (but that was last summer!)

For some reason I was under the impression they had an Empress, but its a Troopers. The coin error thing is still a problem, I only got it once though. When it happens you just have to find a staff member and have them reboot it (you dont get your loonie back though sad.gif ) Apparently the owner of the machine refuses to fix it. Other than the coin error, theres no unlocks, which as mentioned earlier in this thread, is very depressing. It was still fun for me, since theres no ACs in the area I live. I'll probably go back again tonight or tomorrow.

The coin error has been a problem since day 1 on both machines in Vancouver, sadly.

I have no idea to be honest. Probably some hack job to make loonies work in the machine like you're suggesting.

update:

I went again two days ago, and they told me that it was just continuously giving the coin error, so they have it "out of order"ed. bummmmer

but on the bright side I did discover that popn music is pretty damn fun.

Are the pop'n buttons still hard as hell to hit? Also, they better have IIDX fixed in a couple weeks time..

Yeah, I hope they get beatmania fixed, if they don't, all I will have to play is pop'n and drummania. I'm really excited about drummania V6 being there, I want to play a lot of that and beatmania when I get there.

Alright, I'm coming tomorrow. I'll be there at 12pm at the latest. I'll probably be playing u-beat or some other BEMANI game.

Troopers was in good shape. Ghosting on that screen kinda sucked though. Pop'n 14 really sucked, and I didn't get a chance to play Jubeat. sad.gif

I got to play u-Beat a few times. I know Bong was really good at it, but I didn't do very well at all.

EDIT: Apparently the beatmania machine is gone out of CHQ now and is now in one of the Richmond arcades. How unfortunate.
