I've only seen it at 1 of 3 X2 machines around here. Which blows because that's the one with the shittiest pads.

We had Joint Premium on our DDR 3rd Mix machine back in 2004. Maybe even on the 5th Mix machine when that first showed up. It's really stupid that it even exists when Pump lets you switch between singles and doubles at will.

We had to push pretty hard to get joint premium going at a couple places back in the day. It seemed like all the ITG machines were though.

PIU strikes me as a much nicer dance series, since only half of Korea is crazy. On the flipside, it has physically impossible upper-level joke charts. And DM Ashura songs.

btw has turning the announcer off ever been an option in ddr? i dont mind X2's that much but i still havent recovered from that paranoia revolution vid

Konami finally made Double Premium a separate option in... SN2, I think? A shame it took them so long, arcades never wanted to turn Joint Premium on since that would mean two people always being able to play for the price of one.

We had joint premium on the local MAX2 machine back in 2002 ($1 for 4 songs, then 5, then back to 4). I've seen joint premium on maybe two other machines max since then.

The local Tilt has a DDR X1 with Double Premium turned on. But it's a US DDR X cabinet, soooooo welp

Man I dunno PIU has always struck me as completely unfriendly to people who don't already know what they're doing. I never know if a new chart is going to be some kind of joke bullshit. The mission mode is always completely absurd and usually required to unlock content of some kind (or at least it was, dunno about newest versions). The interface will always be terrible if your machine doesn't have buttons on it. etc.

I've never even seen any of the PIU games from Fiesta on so I've been saved the downturn. PREX3, Exceed, Zero, those were all awesome. Half Doubles was pretty much the most fun thing ever.

Aftershock is better than neogenesis
