Back in the days of 5th style, I grabbed this from old beta winmx, which made connections to open nap servers (unknowingly to the user) automatically. The new winmx used to be a common reliable file sharing protocol for stealing files from the japanese, since open nap was popular in japan before the days of winny and share. New winmx required a list of open nap servers in order to connect; old winmx did it automatically based upon a list that was included internally.

The story from the person I got this from goes as follows - this is an mp3 of a song from IIDX that appeared in a beta version of 6th style that appeared at a trade show (I think it was AOU) in late summer of that year (2002 I believe), yet never made it to the final version. I believe the location tests that are conducted these days were not around back then, but i'm not 100% sure. It is an era-esque alternate another version of a song that lacked an another, north.

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=XK77BRN0

who knows if it is real or not? It sounds real, the explanation made sense, and i've never heard anyone talk of or mention this mp3 anywhere else, so I don't think it comes from a doujinongaku related project such as beating surviver or diverse system. It predates all those projects, anyways, except for beating surviver. If someone has an alternate source, share.

ALSO THIS IS TOP SECRET, DONT LET IT GET LEAKED TO THE INTERNET

or else I won't post more top secret musics

I think it's pretty OBVIOUS by the distinct clicking of buttons that what we are hearing is a 10th style location test, not RED. Also, I would say that the playing was probably done in a 14' x 35' rectangular room filled with nothing but frozen shrimp, a black and white 21" TV, and a IIDX controller. Debunk'd

Joking aside, the story I was told behind the mp3 isn't totally farfetched, but take it as you will. The only thing that makes me doubt it is the fact that it is a line-out recording, which would probably be hard to obtain at a trade show.

Neat, thanks.

I wish more people on forums used DC++ or there was a better way to share stuff en masse.

I've found tons of wacky Beatmania stuff from WinMX. Most of it is probably old hat by now I guess.

No offense, but I think this is a remixed BMS run through bms2wav. So someone took the North simfile, rearranged it, and snuck it in. But I don't doubt your story. From the 8th style location test I have clean line-outs of dj.w's Gemini, Sho-T's It's All Right, World Sequence - ?, and DJ Taka's M.

Also, if North was ever destined to get an another, they would've done it for RED CS when Wall5 came back. It even has a nice DP chart that they could 'steal' from.

Back that long ago. Keysounded simfiles of official songs were an extreme rarity; the best you could get would be a bms with an mp3 or wav. Also, bms2wav probably didn't exist yet. I don't know if many 4th style keysounded songs exist, to this day.

There are complete sets of keysounded BMSes for every style.

It WAS. I still wonder how years after the sim was spread around, people still are misguided by it.

FYI Japanese WinMX users had a ton of fanmixes and fake Bemani songs. There were always a shitton on WinMX at any given time.

Oh god M hahaha. I remember after I had 8th style CS for a few weeks it dawned on me -- "WHERE'S M?!" I had been HAD.
