Hmm, very interesting thread! I'll just list a few (there are far too many) of the best BEMANI songs that I believe would grab the hell out of random. I'll list Konami Originals and omit the licensed songs and Xepher to prevent "default-catchy" confusion.

beatmania - calling for destiny, 7000 Questions, FUNKY MODELLING (edit), THE FALL
beatmaniaIII - 12.4, All is vanity, mnemoniq, feeling of love
beatmaniaIIDX - 5.8.8, 嘆きの樹, Karma, Anisakis -somatic mutation type "Forza"
pop'n music - fffff, 禁じられた契約, power plant, Can't Stop My Love
Dance Dance Revolution - D2R, ever snow, PARANOiA -Respect-, Uranus
GuitarFreaks/Drummania - ESCAPE, Primal Soul (long ver.), DAY DREAM, RISE

um that list might appeal to the glowstick and weeaboo crowd but normal people will be all "wtf is this gay shit". Japanese vocals are right out, and obvious choices for GFDM would be various licenses but even most casual Bemani players balk at GFDM and Pop'n because of the impenetrable wall of kanji that is the song wheel. Or maybe that's just me, I dunno, but for me it's a deal breaker.

Hot and Dangerous scratching. Makes "Big." by FullMetal Tortoise look like something Gosaku would play.

It's enough of a deal breaker that the "American" version of GFDM XG over at Round1 has the song wheel shifted to put all of the English licenses at the top, so I'm pretty sure that isn't just you!

So you're saying you should be able to act like this to a forum administrator, or a teacher, or a police officer, or your own parents and get away with it. You're supposed to respect these folks.

If you or a friend has the Sailor Moon S (uncut) boxset, or any of the Sailor Moon movies (uncut), and would like to sell or trade them, please contact me!

house nation, a new morning, bad routine, luv to feel your body, So Real and whatnot

but on the occasions i do lent them play iidx, they tell me "oh i like this song!" and they enjoy songs you just dont expect random ppl would enjoy. shit like Fluteman, advance and cosmic raise - wtf?

I don't know anybody who actually likes FLUTE MAN enough to shout out that they like it. ADVANCE and COSMIC RAISE are both cool songs that I can shout out about though.

BigC, seriously...Silvia Drive!?
Axem Rangers, Craze For You is one of the worst songs I've EVER heard in the entire pop'n music series!
